A new report by Flight Centre has revealed Australians’ travelling habits and trends by postcode.
The report found that residents of North Sydney (postcode 2060) are the biggest spenders for travelling with up to $4,000 on average for Christmas holidays. North Sydney also tops the list for the most-travelled suburbs, with the highest number of trip bookings in 2016.
Other big spending suburbs include Brisbane City (postcode 4000), Rouse Hill (postcode 2155), and Wangara (postcode 6065).
People aged 25-29 were found to travel the most, while the biggest spending age group is 50-54 years old. NSW and Queensland residents booked the most cruises, with residents from Rouse Hill, Campbelltown and Blacktown being the heaviest contributors.
December is the most popular month to travel overall, while September and December are the high season for cruising.
