Disney has announced that it will launch a Star Wars-themed hotel, where fans can have an immersive and interactive adventure in the movie’s universe.
“It combines a luxury resort with immersion in an authentic environment,” said Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek at the D23 Expo in Los Angeles on Saturday. “It will invite you to live your own dedicated, multi-day adventure in a galaxy far, far away.”
The hotel design, which will take the form of a space ship, is inspired by Millennium Falcon. All the hotel employees will be in costume and in character, and accompanied by R2-D2 assistants and droids.
Every guest will get a personalised storyline, which Chapek promised will “touch every single minute of your day”.
“From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story,” said Chapek. “You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire.”
The much-anticipated resort hotel is coming to Florida’s Walt Disney World. The announcement came after the company confirmed that two new Star Wars-themed lands, titled Galaxy’s Edge, are coming in 2019.
